Using traditional Bengkung techniques, I provide supportive belly binding that helps your body heal after birth. This time-honored practice offers gentle compression, physical support, and a moment of intentional care just for you during the postpartum period.
Balinese Binding was initially used among families in Indonesia but is now becoming a more popular treatment worldwide.
This non-medical postnatal treatment accelerates uterine shrinking, reduces fluid retention, and relieves back pain. We will adjust our approach to ensure each mother receives a unique experience that best fits her body.
Binding that starts within 90 days after delivery will achieve the best results.
For mothers who had a c-section, it is best to wait between 30-40 days before starting the treatment. Mothers who had a natural delivery can start treatment as soon as seven days after delivery.
Belly binding supports the retraction of the abdominal wall muscle, improves posture, loosens ligaments, and strengthens the torso.
At the same time, vital organs can return to their pre-pregnancy size and position.
A Balinese herbal paste is massaged onto the abdominal region to stimulate blood circulation and muscle contraction.
The main goal is to minimize the impact of diastasis recti, prevent the widening of the hip, and enhance hip narrowing.
I'll teach you how to wrap yourself so you can continue belly binding at home between sessions. You'll learn proper technique, tension, and positioning to safely support your recovery on your own schedule. I can also provide all belly wraps for an additional charge.
Gentle support for your abdominal muscles and core as they heal and regain strength after birth. The binding technique provides compression that helps with posture, reduces discomfort, and supports your body during the recovery process.
A warming belly mask applied before wrapping to promote circulation and relaxation. I use either a traditional homemade blend (crushed coral, lime juice, eucalyptus essential oil, and betel leaf) or a ready-made belly binding warming lotion from Malaysia—both designed to soothe and support your healing.
Traditional Bengkung belly binding sessions provide gentle compression and support as your body heals postpartum. Using long strips of fabric, I wrap your abdomen to support your core, promote healing, and help you feel more comfortable during recovery.

Treatment that starts within 90 days after delivery achieves best results.
For natural delivery, treatment can start 1 week after delivery. This allows you to have
enough time to rest and prepare for the treatment.
For C-section, it is best to start treatment 4-6 weeks after delivery. We suggest consulting
with a doctor before treatments to make sure the body is ready for abdominal massage
and belly binding. If the wound has not recovered, we suggest to postpone the treatment
start date.
When can I start belly binding after giving birth?
During treatment, you may feel thirsty, an urge to urinate, and tired. This is due to stimulation of blood circulation and light touch on the abdomen. We suggest drinking plenty of water after treatment as it'll help to flush out the accumulated materials from your body.
What are the reactions during jamu treatment?
Belly binding may not be appropriate if you have active infections, open wounds, unhealed C-section incisions, severe diastasis recti, hernias, blood clots, or certain medical conditions. We'll discuss your medical history during our consultation, and I always recommend getting clearance from your healthcare provider before starting belly binding—especially if you had complications during birth or recovery.
Are there any reasons I shouldn't do belly binding?

I'm a certified postpartum doula through Childbirth Professionals International, a certified Newborn Care Specialist from the Newborn Care Training Academy (NCTA), and CPR certified. I'm currently pursuing my IBCLC and sleep consultant certifications.
My approach is rooted in respectful, attachment-focused care, but my best education comes from working with real families, across different backgrounds, with babies and varying needs. I've supported families through postpartum depression, feeding struggles, and sleepless nights. My job is to be a resource and part of your care team, offering information without pressure. Families take what works and leave the rest—no judgment, ever—just support.
